Just a few random thoughts and events, or lack there of, involved in the life of ME

So I have updating to do, but I'll spare you the boring details (this time) and I'll only highlight the week so far.

Tuesday night we made our weekly (2nd) trip up to Rochester to RJ's bar, which is a gay bar that hosts karaoke on lesbian night, which is Tuesday. Surprisingly, there were quite a few gay men there too, which is the reason Joe likes going ;). This week our newest member of our group of gay bar stormers was Johnny. He, Joe, Lisa, and I met up with Erica and Andrew at their house and piled in Joe's Sextera to get our drink on. I wasn't sure how Johnny would react to the gay bar scene, and he'd never been to one before so it was fun to see his reactions. Especially when he was afraid to use the guys room cause he didn't want to walk in on anyone doing anything he didn't want to see, lol... luckily they are very gender friendly in the girls' room. We all ended up getting pretty drunk (except Joe cause it was his night to DD) and I sang Baby Got Back... again... I've decided next week I really need a new song. When we were leaving Lisa proceeded to add to the excitement of the evening by making out with a girl! I don't really blame her though, the girl was pretty hot, lol. We drunkenly piled into the car and made our traditional stop at the Mobil station for some eats. It was another great night up in "The City". I really love my friends, old and new, this year keeps getting better and better.

Thurday Joe, Johnny and I went to Canandaigua for some shopping and stalking, then had dinner at Top Dawg where we decided it was definitely a night to go out. So later that evening I met up with Danielle and Stacey at Red Brick and we later wandered down to Gallagher's. I didn't have to work Friday, so I was fine with getting pretty drunk (surprise surprise). Johnny met us down there with Jay Fitz, etc. I don't even remember anything particularly exciting or eventful happening at the bar, but I still had a really awesome time. It's weird, I just feel really comfortable where I am right now with my friends and everything, it's a great feeling, I can just have an amazing night without having any spectacular stories to tell. Anyways, after Holly (the bartender) had to almost literally kick the boys and I out of the bar we stumbled up the street to Joe's car and headed home, where I was temporarily locked out and almost had to wake Ann and Mike to save me... that would have been ugly...

In other news, I have officially excepted a position at the Ramada Inn Geneva Lakefront which I will start next week. Hopefully it will keep me free enough to maintain the great social life I've been having lately...

Just wanted to write a quick note about another surprisingly fun night in downtown G-town.

I wasn't really that keen on going out last night just cause I was tired and kind of blah at work, but Denise had called earlier in the day and mentioned coming to Geneva to go out and I told her I would absolutely love to go out with her, cause I honestly would. So I got ready and wore my "Not everything is flat in Kansas" shirt so everyone could look at my chest all night and argue they were just reading my shirt. Denise came to my house and I met her boyfriend who seems like a really nice guy (and it's important to me that my friends are with good guys/girls).

Joe picked us up and we headed down to Gallaghers which was packed because it was one of the Finnerty girls' birthday. Stacey, Angie, Nicki, Johnny, and Jill DeSain were all there so Joe and I huddled with them. Denise ran into a few of our friends from high school and caught up with them. Anyways, I'm not great at piecing the night together chronologically, but I know that Johnny, myself, Michelle DeBolt, and some other random lady were dancing on the bar at one point. I know that I love Jill DeSain and she cracks me up, as well as the entire Yannotti family, I am so glad Stacey became friends with them otherwise I probably never would have known how much fun they all are. I know that Joe was being vocal about his crushes on certain people in the bar, which means he was wasted and having fun too. I know that Ellen Fanning is my favorite of Joe's relatives. I know that I only spent $11 dollars, so not only do I have generous friends who bought me drinks, but Geneva is much cheaper to drink in then Massachusetts was. I know that I now understand how people can spend all night in the same bar and not be bored, because if you are with enough people that you want to spend time with, it doesn't matter where you are. I also know that line was very cheesy :)

I am a slacker when it comes to posting, but now I have a whole boring week's worth of un-newsworthy events from my life.

NEW YEARS EVE 2004- Steph, Joe and I went to downtown Geneva to ring in the new year and found that the rest of Geneva had chosen NOT to go out, lol. So we ran into Emily Bonacci (I don't know her married name, but it doesn't matter cause she's getting a divorce I think) at Gallaghers and she made us go to Wylie J's. Mind you, I don't think I've been to Wylie J's since New Year's Eve 2002 and that's only because I was involved with the bouncer. It ended up being a lot of fun since we had already done some shots and there was a band/dj to dance to. The ball dropped and we chugged Champagne. Steph abandoned us cause she was wasted and Joe and I ventured up the street to see if there was anyone at the other bars and there wasn't, so we returned to our origin bar Gallagher's where we met up with Stacey, Ryan, the Yannotti family (Johnny, Angie, Nicki), and Danielle. I don't remember much except sitting on the actual bar and Danielle calling everyone a "whore". We ended up having a great time all hanging out even thought they had stopped serving. Joe and I walked home later and I got shouted at by a driverby and that was the night!

NEW YEARS DAY 2005- I was very, very, very hungover on this 1st Saturday of the year and I regretted ever agreeing to work, but I headed into Wegmans anyways. It was a pretty horrible day for more than one reason I found out when I got in. The store manager and my department manager called me into their office to tell me that my co-worker Bruce Curtis had been driving in the early morning and struck a tree and died. I was shocked to say the least and was pretty upset. I had just worked with him the night before and he was all excited about his trip to Florida he was making to go deep-sea fishing. He was an extremely intelligent and kind person. We're going to miss him a lot.

I can't remember what I did Sunday other than work. Monday I worked again (surprise, surprise!). I had a visitor come in and take my break with me and proceed to try and make plans for later. Fortunately for me I didn't depend on these plans and decided to hang out with Joe, since this visitor of mine has a tendency to disappoint me. It's a good thing I made plans with Joe too since I didn't even hear from this person, and still haven't, mind you. Joe and I ended up watching Anchorman which is by far my favorite movie at the moment. The bloopers reel is hilarious too. I'm so glad I bought the DVD.

Tuesday night Joe, Lisa (from the Deli), and I headed up to Rochester to go to a gay bar Joe wanted to visit. It was lesbian night apparently and also karaoke night, two of my favorite things in the world, lol. Erica and Andrew met up with us there too. I only had 2 drinks because I was driving, but that didn't stop me from singing my version of Sir-Mix-a-Lot's classic Baby Got Back. It was a big hit and Lisa was my back up dancer, lol. We met some pretty interesting charaters and there were a lot of gay guys there considering it was lesbian night, lol. Joe saw his soulmate, but unfortunately I was the only one who had the guts to talk to him, lol. It was a really fun night out and it was the first time I went out with Lisa. She is awesome, I look forward to dragging her out with us a lot more in the future.

Thursday night Joe wanted to go out, so I grudgingly got ready to go even though I wasn't crazy about the idea, but thank god he forced me to, lol. We met up with the Yannotis, and Danielle at Gallagher's. There were also a bunch of people from high school, etc that were out and I got to catch up with them which was nice. I think I only had one beer, but it was cool cause I just hung out and talked to people in conversations that I will actually remember, lol. Joe and I mostly talked to Johnny all night. He's a riot. Angie was pretty drunk, but I was trying to give her advice on problem, which I'm sure I'll have to give her again when she's able to actually remember the conversation, lol. That's the downside of being sober in a room full of drunks, lol.

Yesterday I had my interview at Wegmans for a full time position there. I think it went well. I'm not sure they'll be able to pay me what I can make somewhere else though, so we'll see if it's something I'll be able to accept if offered. After the interview I went with a bunch of people I work with to Bruce's memorial service. I thought I would be able to stay composed, but it obviously was very sad and I went through plenty of tissues. There were a lot people there, so I hope his parents and family could see how many people's lives Bruce affected.

Last night Joey and I headed downtown for what I thought would be a drunken night out since I didn't have to work til 4:30 today. Unfortunately there was no one downtown at any of the bars (believe me, we checked them all, lol). So we just ended up having a few casual drinks which is actually fine with me. I always have a good time hanging out with Joe and the other people that are out are just a bonus really. I might even go so far as saying he is "my gay soulmate", lol. Hopefully tonight we will see more people that we can eye all night, lol. My friend Denise from high school just called and wants to go out in G-town so that's a good start, right? This post is entirely too long now, so I am going to save posting my New Year's Resolutions for another time! Happy New Year everyone!
