Just a few random thoughts and events, or lack there of, involved in the life of ME

Apr 6, 2003

this week was pretty low key. I had a lot of work to do, so I didn't go out at all. I had the worst migraine of my life on Wednesday, so that was fun. I almost went to the ER cause I was in so much pain. Eventually I was able to fall asleep and when I woke up in the AM I was fine.

Thursday night I was planning on driving home to Geneva with Kristin so we could leave for Boston on Friday morning. We ended up not staying for our night class because our teacher understood that the weather was getting bad and allowed us to get on the road early. So we drove to Geneva, through some pretty bad conditions, but made it safely. We went to bed and prayed that the weather would improve so we could go to Boston.

Friday we got up and started getting ready. My mom and dad kept lecturing me and saying I shouldn't go because Syracuse, Albany, and Western New England were getting hit with a severe ice storm. So I kept checking the weather, and it didn't look good at all. So Kristin and I decided not to risk our lives by driving to Boston. I called Tim and told him that I wasn't going to be able to make it. It was hard to tell him cause it is his birthday weekend, and he was really looking forward to seeing me, as I was to seeing him. So Krissy and I just moped around all day, went to lunch at Ciccino's and then my parents took us to the Deluxe for dinner. On our way back, we noticed that the power was out in our neighborhood. So we came home to a cold, dark house. Joe and Stacey came over later on and we played board games and drinking games in the candle light. Since the power was out, the bars were closed, so we didn't end up going out, but we still had fun.

Saturday the power was still out, so it limited the things we could do. We decided to stay another night just because there wasn't going to be anything to do in Buffalo, so we figured we might as well stay in Geneva and rough it. My dad "toasted" some bagels on the grill, lol, and we played some more games with my parents. Eventually the power came on around 3:30pm and we were able to shower and get ready. Joe, Stacey, Kristin and I went to dinner at, you guessed it, Ciccino's. We were all stuffed and went back to my house to drink and watch the SU game. Although we had power, most on Geneva didn't, so we didn't get to go to the bars, which was disappointing, but I am still glad I got to see Joe and Stacey, and spend time with my parents.

Today Krissy and I just got up and drove back to Buffalo. I don't know how I thought I was going to have time to get all my work done if I had gone to Boston, because I don't even have enough time to do it all now and I've been home since 3 o'clock. I still have a lot to do, since only one person from my group of 7 decided to meet tonight to finish the project, so I better get to it. Wish me luck on my 2 tests tomorrow!!!
